Need wifi without a land line?

I am moving in a month and I need to get wifi for the house that I'm renting since it doesn't have it already. I do not want to get a land line because that's another expense that I don't need or want. A lot of people have told me to get a wifi card from ATT (my cell phone provider), Verzion or Virgin Mobile. However most are around 60 a month. Is this the cheapest way possible? And if you have a wifi card do you like it?
